Need to Know: National ID Registration

For the past couple of months, National ID Registration has been circulating around the internet. But what are the things that Filipino and resident aliens need to know about the National ID Registration.

 

On August of 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte signed an act that aims for every Filipino and resident aliens of the Philippines to have a single national identification card. This is known as The Philippine Identification System Act or Republic Act No. 11055.

National ID Registration

The National ID Registration can be completed in 3 easy steps

  1. Online Registration and Appointment Schedule

Register at the PhilSys website, register.philsys.gov.ph and filling out all the required fields and details before submitting the application form. Please keep a copy of your Application Reference Number (ARN) or QR code as this will ask during the actual visit. Choose a schedule and place before proceeding to the next step.

  1. On-site Information Validation

Present the ARN or QR code, as well as an original copy of supporting documents, to the assigned registration center on the day of your appointment.

The supporting documents needed to be presented must be an original copy of at least one (1) primary or secondary document.

Primary Documents Includes?

  1. Certificate of Live Birth issued by PSA and one (1) government-issued identification document indicates your full name, a front-facing photograph, and with signature or thumb mark.
  2. Philippine Passport or e-Passport issued by DFA;
  3. Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card (UMID) issued by either GSIS or SSS;
  4. Student’s License Permit or Non-Professional or Professional Driver’s License issued by Land Transportation Office (LTO)
  1. Delivery of the National ID.

Upon completing the 2 steps and providing the necessary documents needed, the person can wait for the national ID to be delivered right at their doorstep.

Having a national ID would mean that complying with the documentary requirements of any government and private establishment would be a lot easier. It can also be used as opening bank accounts may it be personal or part of the Payroll Process. Whatever the purpose it may serve, it will bring ease to many Filipinos. That is why it is highly encouraged for Filipinos and resident aliens to get and process their National ID Registration.
